Jerome R. Goldstein - Financial Services Pioneer and Dartmouth Alumni

New York-based financial pioneer Jerome R. Goldstein is one of nine Wall Street partners who founded Bear Stearns & Co., which expanded into a leading nationwide brokerage. Jerome R. Goldstein guided operational strategy, including successful efforts to build a network of regional offices that met the needs of diverse US clients. Ultimately giving up active leadership of the company he founded, he retained a role as managing director, emeritus.

Mr. Goldstein is a strong advocate of conservation and sustainability initiatives. He has served as treasurer of Westchester Land Trust, where he helped expand the county’s bank of protected natural ecosystems. Also closely involved with his alma mater, Dartmouth College, from which he graduated as a top 5 percent Rufus Choate Scholar, he established the Dartmouth Distinguished Teaching Award. This distinction takes into consideration undergraduate input in recognizing exceptional college educators.

Mr. Goldstein’s community commitment extends to a past role as a trustee of the New York Eye and Ear Hospital. Also serving on the board of the Mount Sinai Health System, he helped further the institution’s groundbreaking efforts in researching and fighting cancer.
